Key Highlights

  • Mission Control & the Engineering of Space: Step inside the European Space Agency’s Operations Centre in Darmstadt, where students discover how spacecraft are monitored, real-time mission data is managed, and international teams support satellite and deep-space missions. This rare behind-the-scenes experience reveals the precision, technology, and teamwork required to operate spacecraft across the solar system.

  • Aerospace, Robotics & Engineering in Action: At the DLR School Lab at Technical University Darmstadt, students experience research-inspired activities connecting robotics, programming, space science, aerospace, and engineering. Small-group rotations led by university instructors or student researchers turn scientific concepts into hands-on applications and introduce students to the people working in these fields.

  • Porsche: Where Precision Meets Performance: Explore the evolution of automotive engineering and design at the Porsche Museum before heading behind the scenes on a private factory tour. Students see robotics, craftsmanship, and advanced manufacturing working together as vehicles move through active production, bringing precision engineering to life in real time.

  • Mercedes-Benz: Engineering Through Generations: Trace more than 135 years of automotive innovation at the Mercedes-Benz Museum, then enter active production areas to see how robotics, precision engineering, and human craftsmanship come together on the assembly line. Students connect historic breakthroughs in mobility with the technologies shaping modern vehicle manufacturing.

  • From Audi to BMW: Modern Manufacturing in Motion: Compare engineering and production approaches during factory experiences with Audi and BMW, where students see automation, intelligent manufacturing systems, flexible production lines, and skilled craftsmanship in operation. Together, the visits provide a powerful look at how two major manufacturers turn engineering and design into finished vehicles.

  • Design the Future at BMW Welt: Move from observing engineering to becoming part of the design process during an interactive BMW Welt Campus workshop. Students explore automotive design and sustainability before working in teams to brainstorm, sketch, prototype, and present their own concepts, experiencing the creative problem-solving cycle used in a real design environment.
